Here's my experience, testing out the Surfshelf:
1) The website is easy to understand, with all your questions answered before you order. Very clear with detailed diagrams, reviews and even the story behind how the product was developed.
2) As soon as I placed my order I got an email with my order information. I was also sent a tracking number with notification of shipment. So far - impressive customer service.
3) I got my Surfshelf about a week and a half later (I'm in Canada so it took a while at the border).
4) It took about 5 minutes to take it out of the box, assemble it and attach it to the console of my treadmill. After 10 minutes I had attached my laptop to the Surfshelf (there's a velcro strap that you use so it's easy to strap and unstrap your laptop) and was walking away while checking my email.
5) It's been several months now and I'm very happy with the Surfshelf - no problems at all. It was one of the best investments I ever made. I now do about double or sometimes triple the time on my treadmill that I did before since I can work while walking. I read my magazines or watch my favorite youtube videos on it.
6) I received a follow-up email from the guys at Surfshelf a few weeks later checking to see that I had received the product, asking if I was happy with it and if there were any questions they could answer for me.
Now I'm really blown away by the customer service. I know treadmill manufacturers that don't take care of their customers this well.
Another plus is that you can easily take the SurfShelf off your treadmill, fold it up and take it with you to attach to another treadmill (i.e. when on the road for business) or another exercise machine like your elliptical or stationary bike.
You can adjust the height of the Surfshelf. I prefer to have it lower when I read my magazines and higher when for my laptop - so the screen is at eye level.
